Summer camp is a happy time for any child, but for some, it is a unique time of JOY.
Not even in their wildest dreams could three brothers have imagined the surprise awaiting them when they were invited to a Grain of Wheat camp in the beautiful mountains of Romania.
These boys, Laurentiu, Marian and Sebastian were born into a family of four children and live in a very poor rural area. Their parents work with a horse and a cart and can scarcely earn enough money to provide daily food for their family.
Knowing only a life of hardship, these brothers reveled in the simplest things at camp, such as, plenty of good food, a comfortable bed, new friends and fun games. They were enthralled by the Bible teaching and loved singing songs to God.
No matter where kids are from or their social status, our camps are a place where they are treated equally and given the same love and care.
Each one goes home knowing they are precious in God’s eyes and are worth being loved, respected and cared for.
Now hundreds of children like Laurentiu, Marian and Sebastian know that JOY isn’t based on what they have but on who they are as dearly loved children of God.
