Surprisingly, the way forward was through a big change. This is what Gellert Pfaff, director of Grain of Wheat Hungary, has discovered over the past two years.
“After seeing chldren put their trust in Jesus at camp two years ago, Gellert’s heart was troubled. He watched the children so full of joy, go home with “only” their new faith. There was nothing in place to keep in touch with kids after camp. This is when his ministry vision expanded.
He explains, “Our goal has always been for local churches to be involved in supporting our camp ministry. But now, my team and I reach out to local churches, encouraging them to welcome and nurture children. For many churches, this is a new idea. Over the past two years, we have focused on building friendships and trust not only with churches, but also within the community.”
Gellert’s face glows as he shares, “Today, things are different. After several years of hard work, two new clubs have opened in partnership with local churches! We now see that clubs are just as important as camp. Not only do kids learn God’s Word, but what a delight it is to see their famlies come to the Lord through their children’s changed lives.”
Change can often be seen as an obstacle, but Gellert and his team are thrilled to discover that this big change was the only way forward.”
