Swiss children put their FAITH into action at a weekend retreat with refugees from Syria and Afghanistan. Together they worked on a strategy to be a winning team…
Grain of Wheat Switzerland welcomed immigrant families from Syria and Afghanistan at one of our retreat homes, from November 2015 to April 2016. Near the end of their stay, a weekend of games was organised with the help of “Easter Service”, a Swiss partner.
Children and adults alike had an unforgettable time playing football along with a variety of other fun games. The air was filled with laughter and joy as the Swiss and refugee children worked together on their strategy to be the winning team.
One of the Swiss children exclaimed, “At school, my class mates often say they don’t want refugees in our village. I can’t wait to tell them that I spent 3 fantastic days with immigrants and that their children were all very kind. If my friends don’t respect them, they will have to deal with me!”
