At only 11 years of age, Soatiana is responsible for an entire household of 7 people. Her parents divorced and she now lives with her father, brother and sister plus a stepmother and her 2 children.
If she’s not at school, she is busy with cleaning, laundry, and looking after the young ones.
Because of financial struggles, sometimes they don’t have food to eat.
Imagine Soatiana’s delight when she was invited to a local Grain of Wheat camp. In this poverty stricken area of Northern Madagascar where children’s clothes are like rags, it is highly important to show them that they are all equal, that every child is precious in God’s sight!
Now, every Friday from 11:30 to 1:00, when the public school opens up its door for Grain of Wheat to hold clubs, Soatiana can be found first in line. She easily makes friends and applies what she learned at camp, such as proper personal hygiene, good table manners and social skills. But mots importantly, Soatiana’s heart is now filled with the riches of God’s love that has reached her entire family.
