« I was invited to club by Grain of Wheat Romania’s Director. From the moment I walked in, I discovered a world very different from what I knew at home. My parents and grandmother never told me I was good at anything. The first time I ever felt valued was at club! Every word of encouragement I received from the volunteers left a deep impression on me. Little by little, my heart was changed. But it was at a summer camp that I understood the Bible’s message and learned how to pray. All of the activities were new to me! Games, friendships, time discussing the Bible and especially the meals. It all seemed like one big family! Gradually, I came to know Jesus personally. Though, at this point, my heart was not completely open to Him. I now know that God is my Father and He loves me unconditionally! It is through the clubs and activities at my church that I discovered the gift God has given to me: working with children. Over time, I was given the responsiblity of leading some of the camp activities. I’m so happy to help as a volunteer. At my church, we often pray for the children. I am convinced that some people were praying for me when I myself was a child. I am grateful to God for allowing me to invest my time in the lives of these little ones.»
