It has been a very challenging time for Grain of Wheat Syria since the war began in 2011, as many on the team have left the country with their families.
All of the churches in Syria are facing the same problem. Due to this shortage of prepared leaders, training is now one of Grain of Wheat Syria’s priorities. In 2016, intensive training seminars were held for 175 leaders from all 5 regions of Syria. At these seminars of 8 to 16 hours (1-2 days), 6 different sessions covered a variety of relevant topics. For instance, “August the Clown” (Jean-Pierre Frauche from Switzerland) gave an intensive training in Creative Arts & Drama. This quality training has been invaluable to those who reached 1,600 children from poor, displaced refugee families through 14 camps in all 5 regions of Syria!
The leaders who have chosen to take the risk and stay in Syria believe that where there is greater pain and suffering there will also be a greater outpouring of God’s grace.
In 2017, this courageous Grain of Wheat team is willing to stay on the battlefield holding quality camps and training leaders with excellence. Will you stand by them and commit to prayer along with generous support? Imagine the Kingdom impact you will have in a place where few dare to go.
