A Lasting Partnership
In Ukraine, partnering with churches to reach children is a new idea. In the early 90’s when Ukraine was set free from Communism, there were 380,000 orphans. It became obvious that it was vital to invest in their lives. Thus, in 2000 GWI, Ukraine was born. Since then, 19 new churches in seven different regions have been established.
GWI is fully committed to building strong ties with local churches. Over the past five years, our goal has been to help them catch a vision of the high value of investing in children’s lives; not only with the gospel, but also in action.
A Focus on Vision
Through training seminars and special events, Pastors are invited to discover how to effectively minister to children. They are also given the necessary materials to assist them in holding sucessful clubs and camps.
From the Heart of Vitalik
«We want our children to know that it is possible to live without falling into a lifestyle of drugs and alcohol. By learning what it means to respect themselves and others, the community will be fundamentally changed. But most importantly, they need to personally know that with God, they can have real hope for a better future!»
«Our church was born through GWI’s camp and club ministry with children. Over time, children who had been to camp brought their families to our meetings. This small group grew as we studied the Bible and worshipped together. As a result, people gave their lives to Jesus and were baptized. In 2003, we officially became, «Kimivska Baptist Church.» All of this, because of the wonderful GWI camp ministry.»
